Pork Chops

Method

Preparing the Pork Chops

  1. 1

    Seasoning the Pork Chops

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub the fresh rosemary on both sides of the chops.

  2. 2

    Cooking the Pork Chops

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes.

Making the Apple Chutney

  1. 3

    Sautéing the Onions

In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed, and sauté the chopped onion over medium heat until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Adding the Apples and Spices

Add the diced apples, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

  3. 5

    Simmering the Chutney

Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples are tender and the chutney thickens.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plating the Dish

Serve the pork chops warm and top with a generous spoonful of apple chutney. Enjoy your meal!
