Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of espresso. Let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Soak Ladyfingers

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso and rum. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Set aside.

Cream Mixture

  1. 3

    Whip Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Mix Mascarpone and Sugar

In another bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  3. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

  4. 6

    Add Egg Yolks

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until pale. Slowly fold the egg yolks into the mascarpone and whipped cream mixture.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Layer the Tiramisu

In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

  2. 8

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone cream mixture.

  3. 9

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for better flavor.

Finishing Touch

  1. 10

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
