Spaghetti

Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Boil the Pasta
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Stir occasionally.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Add Tomatoes
Pour in the crushed canned tomatoes and bring to a simmer.

Season the Sauce
Add the chopped basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meatballs

Mix Meatball Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley.

Form Meatballs
Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Bolognese Sauce

Sauté Vegetables
In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, diced carrot, and diced celery. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.

Brown the Meat
Add the ground beef to the saucepan and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.

Add Tomatoes and Wine
Stir in the crushed tomatoes and red wine. Season with chopped basil, salt, and black pepper.

Simmer the Sauce
Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
