Chicken Preparation

Breading Mixture

Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Sear the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Breading Mixture

  1. 3

    Prepare the Breading Stations

Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off the excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to ensure it adheres.

  3. 5

    Bake the Chicken

Place the breaded chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and has an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Once the chicken is done, take the sub rolls and slice them open. Spread a generous amount of marinara sauce on the bottom half of each roll.

  2. 7

    Add Chicken and Cheese

Place a breaded chicken breast on top of the marinara sauce. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the chicken.

  3. 8

    Melt the Cheese

Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the mozzarella is melted and bubbly.

  4. 9

    Finish with Basil

Remove the sandwiches from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves. Close the sandwiches and serve immediately.
