Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until fully combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Add crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the skillet. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Spaghetti

  1. 6

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and spaghetti, cooking according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Once the meatballs are cooked and the sauce is simmered, add the meatballs to the sauce and gently stir to coat. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
