Steamed Milk
Method
Preparing the Espresso
- 1
Grind the Coffee
Using a coffee grinder, grind 18g of espresso coffee beans to a fine consistency suitable for espresso.
- 2
Brew the Espresso
Add the ground coffee into the espresso machine portafilter. Ensure it’s packed tightly. Lock the portafilter in place and start the machine. Brew the espresso for about 25-30 seconds to yield approximately 60ml of espresso.
Steaming the Milk

- 4
Steam the Milk
Insert the steam wand into the milk and turn on the steam. Angle the pitcher to create a whirlpool effect, ensuring the steam wand is just below the surface of the milk to create microfoam. Steam until the milk reaches about 65-70°C (149-158°F).
Combining the Ingredients
- 5
Pour the Espresso
Once the espresso is brewed, pour it into a pre-warmed coffee cup.
- 6
Add the Steamed Milk
Gently pour the steamed milk over the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon to create a layered effect. Then, spoon the foam on top.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade café latte!
