Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Ahi

Place the Pacific Ahi tuna steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the fish is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Ahi

Remove the Ahi from the marinade (discard the marinade) and place it on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer your fish cooked through.

  3. 5

    Let it Rest

Once cooked, remove the Ahi from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. This helps the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Slice the Ahi tuna steak into thin strips and place on a serving plate.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the top for garnish.
