Potatoes

Method

Preparation of Potatoes

  1. 1

    Wash and Peel

Thoroughly wash the Russet potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Peel the potatoes with a vegetable peeler.

  2. 2

    Cut into Fries

Cut the peeled potatoes into evenly sized strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick, to ensure even cooking. Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water to soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

  2. 4

    Drain and Dry

After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

  3. 5

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.

  4. 6

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

  5. 7

    Serve

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
