Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and top each with a slice of cheddar cheese. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the desired doneness is reached.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into thick rounds and thinly slice the red onion.

Paprika Aioli Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Aioli

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, paprika, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Stir until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the brioche buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. Spread a generous amount of paprika aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked patty on top, followed by lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Cap with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
