Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This ensures that the potatoes will bake evenly.

Using a fork, poke several holes in each potato to allow steam to escape during baking.

Bake the Potatoes
Place the prepared potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the flesh.

Prepare the Toppings
While the potatoes are baking, prepare the toppings. Chop the green onions finely.

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Alternatively, you can use a microwave-safe bowl to melt the butter in the microwave.

Assemble the Baked Potatoes
Once the potatoes are baked, remove them from the oven. Carefully cut a slit down the center of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to fluff the insides.
