Prepare the Pesto
In a food processor, combine fresh basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend until finely chopped. Gradually add olive oil while blending until the mixture is smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve a cup of pasta water.

Sauté the Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden brown, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cherry tomatoes, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes are softened.

Combine Ingredients
Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and sauté until wilted. Add the cooked linguini to the skillet along with the prepared pesto. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.

Serve
Remove from heat, and serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional black pepper to taste.
