Method
Making the Soda Base
- 1
Prepare the Sugar Mixture
In a large pot, combine water, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugars are fully dissolved.
- 2
Add Yeast
Remove the pot from heat and let it cool until it’s lukewarm. Sprinkle the yeast over the surface and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 3
Combine with Carbonated Water
Once the yeast is frothy, add in the carbonated water and vanilla extract. Stir gently to combine.
Flavoring the Soda
- 4
Add Extracts
Divide the soda base into four separate containers. In each container, add the respective extracts: root beer extract in one, cream soda extract in another, black cherry extract in the third, and orange extract in the last.
- 5
Mix Well
Stir each container well to ensure that the extracts are fully incorporated.
- 6
Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the flavored sodas for at least 2 hours or until chilled. Serve over ice and enjoy!
