Preparing the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and set aside to cool.

Sweeten the Coffee
Stir in 1/4 cup of granulated sugar into the warm espresso until dissolved. Allow to cool completely.
Making the Filling

Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together 4 large egg yolks and 3/4 cup of granulated sugar until the mixture becomes pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in 16 oz of mascarpone cheese until smooth and well combined.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 tsp of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Soak the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Tiramisu
In a 9x13 inch dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the mascarpone filling. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of filling.
Chilling and Serving

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Serve and Garnish
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tbs of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
