Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash the Greens

Thoroughly wash the romaine lettuce and spinach under cold running water. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

Cut the cherry tomatoes in half. Dice the cucumber and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the red onion.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Fruits

Pit and slice the avocado into cubes. Core and chop the apple into small pieces.

  4. 4

    Toast the Nuts

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the sunflower seeds and walnuts until they are golden and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent burning.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, red onion, avocado, and apple.

  2. 6

    Add Nuts

Sprinkle the toasted sunflower seeds and walnuts over the salad mixture.

  3. 7

    Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 8

    Dress the Salad

Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine, ensuring all ingredients are coated.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the salad immediately for the freshest taste. Optionally, garnish with extra seeds or nuts on top.
