Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned.

Add the Tomatoes and Herbs
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
