Meatballs

Tomato Sauce

Seasoned Ricotta

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned.

Tomato Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onion and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Add the Tomatoes and Herbs

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Seasoned Ricotta

  1. 6

    Prepare the Ricotta

In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
