Method

Preparation of Topping

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Wash the fresh tomatoes, remove the stems, and dice them into small pieces. Place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Basil and Garlic

Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the tomato mixture, then gently mix everything together. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Grilling the Bread

  1. 4

    Slice the Bread

Cut the baguette or Italian bread into slices about 1 inch thick.

  2. 5

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush both sides of each bread slice with olive oil.

  3. 6

    Grill the Bread

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the bread slices on the grill and toast them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden and crisp.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Top the Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the grill and top each slice with the prepared tomato mixture.

  2. 8

    Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze

Drizzle a small amount of balsamic glaze over the topped bread slices for added flavor.

  3. 9

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and enjoy immediately while the bread is still warm.
