Muddle the Sugar
Place the sugar cube in an old fashioned glass. Add the Angostura bitters and water. Muddle together until the sugar is dissolved.

Add Ice
Fill the glass with large ice cubes to chill the drink.

Stir
Gently stir the mixture to combine the ingredients and chill the drink.

Garnish
Twist the orange peel over the drink to release its oils. Place the peel in the glass as a garnish, along with the maraschino cherry.
