Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat and Prepare Pan

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk and melted butter. Mix in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Flavoring

  1. 5

    Add Cocoa Powder

Sift the cocoa powder into the batter and gently fold it in until well incorporated.

  2. 6

    Incorporate Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  1. 7

    Pour Batter into Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

  2. 8

    Bake the Kaluga Hybrid

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  3. 9

    Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  1. 10

    Serve the Kaluga Hybrid

Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar and top with fresh berries before slicing and serving.
