Heirloom Tomatoes

Fresh Basil

Balsamic Vinegar

Olive Oil (optional)

Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare Heirloom Tomatoes

Wash the heirloom tomatoes under cold running water. Pat them dry with a clean towel. Slice each tomato into thick rounds, approximately 1/2 inch thick, and arrange them on a serving platter.

  2. 2

    Prepare Fresh Basil

Rinse the fresh basil leaves gently in cold water, then dry them with a paper towel. Tear the basil leaves into smaller pieces if they are large, and sprinkle them over the sliced tomatoes.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Drizzle Balsamic Vinegar

Pour the aged balsamic vinegar evenly over the sliced tomatoes and basil, making sure each slice gets a good amount of the vinegar.

  2. 4

    Optional Olive Oil

If desired, drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the tomatoes and basil for added flavor.

  3. 5

    Seasoning

Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the dish to taste, ensuring a balanced flavor.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve Chilled or Room Temperature

Let the mozzarella cart sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve the dish chilled or at room temperature, perfect for sharing.
