Bread

Method

Bread

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Once the yeast is activated, add it to the dry ingredients along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or desired shape. Place it in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the shaped dough and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.

  8. 8

    Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

  9. 9

    Cool the Bread

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Lemon Butter

  1. 10

    Prepare the Butter

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.

  2. 11

    Add Lemon Flavor

Mix in the lemon juice and lemon zest until well combined.

  3. 12

    Season with Salt

Add sea salt and mix until evenly distributed.

  4. 13

    Serve

Transfer the lemon butter to a serving dish or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
