Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken pieces, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Remove chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge in flour, shaking off excess. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Cook the Waffles
Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions. Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
