Prepare the Bread
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the chocolate bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the chopped almonds over the bread pieces.

Make the Custard
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

Combine
Pour the custard mixture over the bread and almonds. Gently press down to ensure all the bread is soaked. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

Bake
Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.

Make the Caramel
In a medium saucepan, heat the granulated sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts and turns a deep amber color.

Remove from heat and carefully add the butter, stirring until melted. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and sea salt until smooth.
