Tres Leches Mixture

Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Beat Eggs and Sugar

In another bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer on high speed until the mixture is thick and pale, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Add the milk and vanilla extract to the egg mixture, and mix on low speed until combined. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, and mix until just combined.

  5. 5

    Pour into Baking Dish

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tres Leches Mixture Preparation

  1. 8

    Mix Tres Leches

In a large bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk. Mix until well combined.

  2. 9

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is completely cooled, poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork. Slowly pour the tres leches mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Topping Preparation

  1. 10

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.

  2. 11

    Spread the Topping

Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake evenly. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and top with fresh berries or fruit if desired.
