Base Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Base

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together until well mixed.

  2. 2

    Prepare Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  4. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Baking the Base

  1. 5

    Prepare Baking Pan

Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  3. 7

    Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Preparing Toppings

  1. 8

    Prepare Berries

Wash the fresh berries thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. 9

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.

Assembling and Serving

  1. 10

    Assemble the Dish

Once the cake is completely cool, cut it into squares. Top each square with a dollop of whipped cream, a handful of fresh berries, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

  2. 11

    Serve

Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving. Enjoy your delightful News & Events cake!
