Burrito Filling

Method

Burrito Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Protein

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken or beef and season with garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook until fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes for chicken, 8-10 minutes for beef). Remove from heat and let it rest.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Burrito

Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds. Place a portion of the cooked protein in the center of each tortilla. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling and roll it up tightly.

Side Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Fries or Rice

If using frozen fries, cook them according to package instructions until crispy. If using rice, cook 1 cup of rice in 2 cups of water until fluffy.

  2. 4

    Heat the Beans

In a small saucepan, combine the canned black beans and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat until warmed through, about 5-7 minutes.
