Prepare Sweet Tea
In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Steep for about 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until fully dissolved.

Allow the sweet tea to cool to room temperature. This may take about 30-45 minutes.

Taste and Bottle
After about a week, start tasting the kombucha daily until it reaches your desired flavor. Once ready, remove the SCOBY and set it aside for your next batch. Pour the kombucha into bottles, leaving some space at the top, and seal them. You may add flavors like fruit or herbs at this stage.

Second Fermentation (optional)
If you added flavors, let the bottles sit at room temperature for an additional 3-7 days to carbonate. Then, refrigerate to stop fermentation.
