Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Sugar and Sour Cream

Gradually add granulated sugar and mix until fully incorporated. Then mix in the sour cream and vanilla extract, blending until smooth.

  3. 5

    Incorporate Eggs

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing gently after each addition until just blended. Avoid overmixing.

Baking and Cooling

  1. 6

    Combine and Bake

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Bake in the oven at 325°F (163°C) for 60-70 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly browned.

  2. 7

    Cool the Cheesecake

Turn off the oven and crack the door open. Let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour. Afterward, remove it from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Cold

Before serving, if desired, top the cheesecake with fresh berries and a dusting of powdered sugar. Slice and enjoy your classic vanilla cheesecake!
