Fruit & Dairy

Method

Smoothie Bowl (Main)

1

Blend base

Place the milk, Greek yogurt, banana, frozen mixed berries, and 1 tablespoon of peanut/almond butter into a blender. Add 1 tablespoon rolled oats and 1 teaspoon chia seeds. Blend on high until smooth and thick. If the mixture is too thick for your child to eat with a spoon, add 1–2 tablespoons water or extra milk and pulse once or twice.

2

Taste the smoothie base and add 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup if more sweetness is desired. Blend briefly to incorporate.

3

Pour the smoothie into a shallow bowl so it's easy for kids to eat with a spoon.

Toppings & Sides

4

Prepare fruit & oats topping

Thinly slice the apple if needed and arrange on top of the smoothie bowl. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup rolled oats (lightly toasted if preferred) across the bowl for chew and fiber. Scatter 2 teaspoons raisins or mini chocolate chips over the top if using.

5

Drizzle the remaining 2 teaspoons peanut/almond butter in small dollops across the bowl or warm it for 10 seconds in the microwave to make it easier to drizzle.

6

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon over the bowl for mild spice and aroma.

7

Serve the mini whole-grain crackers or graham crackers on the side with 1 teaspoon unsalted butter spread if desired for an extra finger-food option.

Make-Ahead & Safety Notes

8

If preparing in advance, keep the smoothie base refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. Stir before serving; texture may thicken — thin with a splash of milk or water as needed.

9

For children with nut allergies, substitute sunflower seed butter or additional yogurt and omit peanut/almond butter. Always check for choking hazards: chop fruit into age-appropriate sizes and avoid whole nuts for children under 5 (this recipe is for ages 6–12).
