Classic Ice-Cold Coke (Single Serving)

For a Sparkling Pitcher (optional, 4 servings)

Method

Classic Ice-Cold Coke (Single Serving)

1

Chill and Prepare Glass

If possible, chill the glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes beforehand. Fill the glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes (about 1 cup).

2

Pour Coke

Hold the bottle or can of chilled Coca-Cola at a slight angle and slowly pour 12 fl oz over the ice to preserve carbonation. Pour down the side of the glass if you want less foam.

3

Garnish and Serve

Optionally squeeze a lime wedge over the top and drop it into the drink or serve the wedge on the rim. Serve immediately while effervescent and cold.

Sparkling Pitcher (4 servings)

4

Prepare Pitcher

Chill a 2-quart pitcher in the refrigerator if possible. Add about 4 cups of ice to the pitcher or divide ice among four glasses if you prefer glasses chilled separately.

5

Add Coke

Slowly pour 48 fl oz (four 12 fl oz cans/bottles) of chilled Coca-Cola into the pitcher to retain carbonation. Pour gently down the side of the pitcher to minimize foam.

6

Garnish and Serve

Float a few lime slices in the pitcher or place a slice on each glass when serving. Serve immediately; do not cover for long to avoid losing fizz.
