Equipment & Supplies
Liquid Components (per 16 oz serving)
Optional Add-ins (per serving)
Method
Equipment & Setup
- 1
Confirm the fountain dispenser is properly plumbed: syrup lines connected to the correct syrup boxes/bags, CO2 cylinder connected and charged, and chilled water/carbonator functioning. If the dispenser was idle, flush each line briefly (1–3 seconds) to clear stale syrup.
- 2
Ensure syrup to water ratio is set per manufacturer/Coca-Cola specifications (commonly around 1:3 syrup to carbonated water by volume for fountain systems). Adjust the dispenser’s syrup flow or regulator so the ratio delivers balanced flavor.
- 3
Make sure the ice bin is stocked and cup lids/straws are available at the station.
Assembling a Standard 16 oz Coca-Cola (Fountain) Serving
- 4
Fill with Ice (Optional)
If serving with ice, fill a 16 oz cup about three-quarters full with clean ice from the ice bin (approximately 1 cup). Leave space at the top for dispensing.
- 5
Dispense Coca-Cola
Place the cup under the Coca-Cola dispenser nozzle. Depress the lever/button and dispense the fountain Coca-Cola into the cup. Aim to pour carbonated water and syrup mixture until the cup is about three-quarters to nearly full (about 16 oz total). Standard dispense timing should deliver approximately 12 oz carbonated water and 4 oz syrup per 16 oz cup when equipment is correctly calibrated.
- 6
Top & Garnish
If desired, top off gently to manage head (foam). Add optional garnish: drop in a cherry or squeeze a lime wedge on the rim, or add a small pour (about 0.25 oz) of cherry or vanilla syrup into the cup. For lime/lemon garnish, rub the wedge around the rim and drop it in or serve on the side.
- 7
Place a lid and straw on the cup for to-go service, or serve without for dine-in. Wipe any spills on the dispenser with a clean cloth.
Flushing & Maintenance After Service
- 8
After peak service or when changing flavors, flush each syrup line for 1–3 seconds into a waste container to prevent cross-flavor carryover. If removing or replacing syrup boxes, follow supplier instructions to purge air and prime the line.
- 9
Check CO2 pressure and syrup levels periodically. Replace syrup bags/boxes when low. Clean dispenser nozzles and exterior surfaces daily with warm water and mild detergent; sanitize according to local health guidelines.
