Seafood Salad

Method

Seafood Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Shrimp

In a pot of boiling salted water, add the wild caught shrimp and cook for about 3-4 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Lobster

If using whole lobster, steam it for 10-12 minutes or until the meat is cooked through. Remove the meat from the shell and chop it into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled shrimp, lobster meat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, diced celery, sliced green onions, salt, black pepper, and chopped dill. Stir gently until all ingredients are well mixed.

  4. 4

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the seafood salad for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Roll Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Rolls

While the seafood salad is chilling, take the New England rolls and slice them down the middle without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.

  2. 6

    Butter the Rolls

Spread softened butter on the outside of each roll, ensuring a generous layer for a rich flavor.

  3. 7

    Toast the Rolls

In a skillet over medium heat, toast the buttered rolls until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Fill the Rolls

Remove the chilled seafood salad from the refrigerator. Generously fill each toasted roll with the lobster and shrimp salad mixture.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the lobster shrimp rolls immediately, garnished with additional dill or lemon wedges if desired.
