Blueberry Puree

Mocktail Base

Method

Making Blueberry Puree

  1. 1

    Prepare Blueberries

Rinse the fresh blueberries under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. 2

    Cook Blueberries

In a saucepan, combine the rinsed blueberries, sugar, and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries break down and release their juices, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Blend and Strain

Once cooked, remove from heat and let cool slightly. Pour the mixture into a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to remove the skins, pressing down with a spatula to extract as much puree as possible.

  4. 4

    Cool the Puree

Let the blueberry puree cool to room temperature before using it in the mocktail.

Assembling the Mock Mule

  1. 5

    Prepare the Glass

Take a tall glass or a copper mug and fill it with ice cubes.

  2. 6

    Add Blueberry Puree

Pour 2 tablespoons of the prepared blueberry puree over the ice in the glass.

  3. 7

    Mix in Lime Juice

Add the fresh lime juice to the glass, stirring gently to combine with the blueberry puree.

  4. 8

    Top with Ginger Beer

Slowly pour the ginger beer over the mixture, filling the glass to the top.

  5. 9

    Garnish

Add a sprig of fresh mint leaves for garnish and stir gently before serving.
