Combine and chill
In a mixing glass, combine Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon, Angostura Bitters, and Simple Syrup. Add ice and stir for 20-30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

Prepare glass
Fill a rocks glass with a large ice cube.

Strain
Strain the mixture into the rocks glass over the ice.

Garnish
Express the orange peel over the drink to release essential oils, wipe the rim with the peel, and garnish with the orange peel and optional maraschino cherry.
