NOTHING FANCY / EGGS ALL DAY

  1. 1

    Batter: whisk dry ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Batter: whisk wet ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. 3

    Batter: combine

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; batter should be slightly lumpy. Let rest 5–10 minutes while you heat the waffle iron.

  4. 4

    Preheat waffle iron

Preheat Belgian waffle iron and grease lightly.

  5. 5

    Cook waffles

Pour batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook until the waffles are crisp and deeply golden.

  6. 6

    Prepare toppings

While waffles cook, whip the cream to soft peaks, warm the Nutella until pourable, and whip the citrus butter by beating softened butter with citrus zest until fluffy.

  7. 7

    Assemble & optional toppings

Place a warm waffle on a plate. Top with whipped cream, drizzle with maple syrup, spread warm Nutella, and lay two strips of bacon on top. If using optional toppings, sprinkle chocolate chips on top or scatter sliced strawberries.
