Bring water to a rolling boil in a kettle (water should be at or near 100°C).

Place the tea bag in a teacup or mug.

Pour the hot water into the cup over the tea bag and let it steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on desired strength.

Remove the tea bag and stir in the sugar until fully dissolved.

Add milk (optional)
Stir in milk until the tea reaches your preferred color and creaminess. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
