Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare Saffron Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, 2 cups of water, saffron threads, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and fluffy. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- 2
Cook the Burger Patties
In a large bowl, combine ground beef and chorizo sausage. Form into two patties and season with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach desired doneness. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
- 3
Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add chopped bell pepper, zucchini, and onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4
Cook the Eggs
In a separate non-stick skillet, cook the eggs to your liking (fried, scrambled, etc.). Season with salt and pepper.
- 5
Toast the Bread
Toast the slices of bread until golden brown.
- 6
Assemble the Dish
On a plate, layer the saffron rice, followed by the chorizo-beef burger patty, sautéed vegetables, and top with the cooked eggs. Serve with grilled toast on the side.
