Prepare the Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, diced bell pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Shape the Shikes
Form the mixture into patties, about 1/2 inch thick. You should be able to make approximately 6 patties.

Cook the Shikes
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are browned and cooked through.

During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt.
