Country Fried Steak & Eggs Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the beef cube steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Dredge each steak in all-purpose flour, ensuring it's fully coated.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the coated steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease.

  3. 3

    Make the Gravy

In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, sprinkle in any remaining flour and whisk for about 1 minute. Gradually add the milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Stir in the diced green chile and simmer until the gravy thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate pan, fry the eggs to your desired doneness in a little oil or butter.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Fries

Cook the frozen fries according to package instructions until crispy.

  6. 6

    Serve

Place the fried steak on a plate, top with green chile gravy, and serve alongside the fried eggs and crispy fries. Add slices of your choice of bread on the side.
