Carrot Cake

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the grated carrots and chopped walnuts.

Bake
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation
While the cakes cool, prepare the cream cheese frosting (not included in this recipe) to frost the cake.

Assemble Cake
Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread cream cheese frosting between the layers and on top and sides of the cake. Garnish with additional chopped walnuts if desired.
