Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the sirloin steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.

  2. 2

    Make the Bourbon Cream Sauce

In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Carefully pour in the bourbon and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to reduce. Add the heavy cream and soy sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

If not already prepared, boil potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, milk, salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Cook the Vegetables

In a separate pot, steam or sauté seasonal vegetables until just tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the steak and serve it topped with the bourbon cream sauce, alongside a generous scoop of mashed potatoes and the seasonal vegetables.
