Biscuits and Gravy
Method
Preparation
- 1
Making the Biscuits
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1 inch thick and cut into rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Cooking the Sausage Gravy
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Once cooked, sprinkle flour over the sausage and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Gradually add milk, stirring frequently until the gravy thickens. Season with black pepper and salt to taste.
- 3
Cooking the Range Fries
Peel and dice the potatoes into fries. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the potatoes until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
