Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and Slice Radishes

Thoroughly wash the radishes under cold water. Remove any dirt and trim the tops and tails. Slice the radishes into thin rounds or half-moons, depending on your preference.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Pickling Liquid

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, white vinegar, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar and salt dissolve completely.

  3. 3

    Add Spices

Once the pickling liquid is boiling, remove it from the heat. Add the garlic cloves, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, and red pepper flakes to the mixture. Stir to combine.

Pickling Process

  1. 4

    Combine Radishes and Pickling Liquid

Place the sliced radishes in a clean glass jar or container. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the radishes, ensuring they are fully submerged. You may need to press them down slightly.

  2. 5

    Cool and Refrigerate

Allow the jar to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, seal the jar with a lid and refrigerate. The radishes will be ready to eat after about 24 hours, but they taste even better after a few days.
