Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

Rinse the edamame thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or impurities.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

In a medium pot, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Add Edamame

Once the water is boiling, add the rinsed edamame to the pot.

  4. 4

    Steam the Edamame

Cover the pot with a lid and steam the edamame for about 5-7 minutes, or until the pods are tender and bright green.

  5. 5

    Drain and Salt

Carefully remove the pot from the heat, drain the edamame in a colander, and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt while the beans are still warm.

  6. 6

    Serve

Transfer the edamame to a serving bowl and serve warm, allowing guests to pop the beans out of the pods.
