Fried Pickles
Method
Fried Pickles Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Breading
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 2
Prepare the Wet Mixture
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until well combined.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle chip into the wet mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the dry mixture.
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the coated pickle chips into the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with ranch dressing.
