Method

Preparation of Seafood

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Peel and devein the shrimp. Boil them in salted water for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and let them cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tilapia

Cut the tilapia fillet into bite-sized cubes. If desired, you can marinate the tilapia in lime juice for about 15 minutes for added flavor.

Preparation of Vegetables and Fruits

  1. 3

    Chop the Vegetables and Fruits

Dice the avocado, red onion, green apple, and cucumber into small pieces. Finely chop the cilantro and slice the serrano pepper, removing seeds if you prefer less heat.

Mixing the Aguachile

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the boiled shrimp, cubed tilapia, diced avocado, red onion, green apple, cucumber, cilantro, and serrano pepper.

  2. 5

    Dress the Mixto

Drizzle lime juice and olive oil over the mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Gently toss to combine, ensuring everything is evenly coated.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Serve

Let the aguachile rest for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
