Ice Cream Base

Walnut Mixture

Method

Ice Cream Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Cream Base

In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, pure maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

  2. 2

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is well chilled.

  3. 3

    Churn the Ice Cream

Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Walnut Mixture Preparation

  1. 4

    Toast the Walnuts

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped walnuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the walnuts are toasted and the sugar has caramelized.

  2. 5

    Cool the Walnut Mixture

Remove the skillet from heat and allow the walnut mixture to cool completely.

Combine and Freeze

  1. 6

    Mix in Walnuts

Once the ice cream base is churned, gently fold in the cooled walnut mixture until evenly distributed.

  2. 7

    Freeze

Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
