Cookie Ingredients

Method

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the proper temperature for baking.

  2. 2

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

In a separate large bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  4. 4

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract into the butter and sugar mixture until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.

  7. 7

Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie to allow for spreading.

  8. 8

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.

  9. 9

Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
