Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dates

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Begin by carefully slicing each Medjool date lengthwise on one side to create an opening. Remove the pit if not already pitted.

  2. 2

    Stuff the Dates

Using a small spoon or your fingers, fill each date with approximately a teaspoon of chèvre cheese. Place one Marcona almond inside each stuffed date to add a delightful crunch.

  3. 3

    Wrap in Bacon

Take one slice of bacon and cut it in half. Wrap each stuffed date with half a slice of bacon, securing the ends underneath or with a toothpick if needed.

  4. 4

    Season the Dates

Drizzle the wrapped dates with olive oil and season with black pepper and salt to taste. This will help enhance the flavors as they cook.

  5. 5

    Bake the Dates

Place the bacon-wrapped dates on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.

  6. 6

    Glaze with Marsala

In the last 5 minutes of baking, drizzle the dates with Marsala wine to add a rich flavor. Return to the oven for the final moments to let the glaze caramelize slightly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Once done, remove the dates from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve warm on a platter, and enjoy the combination of sweet, savory, and creamy flavors!
