Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Base

In a large pot, boil 4 cups of water and dissolve 1 cup of cane sugar completely. Remove from heat.

  2. 2

    Add Extracts

Stir in 2 tablespoons of natural root extract and 2 tablespoons of natural orange extract into the sugar-water mixture.

  3. 3

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of yeast with a few tablespoons of warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Once the yeast is activated, add it to the sugar mixture and stir well.

  5. 5

    Flavoring

If desired, add 1 tablespoon of your chosen seasonal flavor extract and mix thoroughly.

  6. 6

    Fermentation

Transfer the mixture to a clean glass bottle or fermentation vessel, leaving some space at the top. Seal it loosely and let it sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours until it’s fizzy.

  7. 7

    Chill and Serve

Once fermented, refrigerate for a few hours. To serve, mix with 4 cups of carbonated water to dilute to your desired sweetness and fizziness.
