Produce

Method

Prep

1

Wash all produce thoroughly under cold running water. Pat dry with a clean towel or use a salad spinner for leafy greens.

2

Core the apple and cut into quarters. If you prefer a smoother juice, peel the apple; otherwise leave the skin for fiber and color.

3

Trim the cucumber ends; peel if waxed. Cut into pieces that fit your juicer or blender feed tube.

4

Trim celery stalks and cut into 2–3 inch pieces. Roughly chop romaine, zucchini, kale (remove thick stems), and spinach so they fit easily into your juicer or blender.

5

Peel a small knob of ginger and measure approximately 1 teaspoon (about a 1/2-inch piece). Juice the lemon and set aside the juice.

If using a juicer

6

Assemble and Juice

Assemble the juicer according to manufacturer instructions and place a container beneath the spout.

7

Feed ingredients through the juicer in this order for best extraction: kale and spinach (leafy greens), romaine, celery, cucumber, zucchini, apple, ginger. Alternate harder items (apple, cucumber) with leafy greens to help push greens through.

8

Collect juice, then stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and a pinch of sea salt if using. Taste and add up to 1/2 cup cold water or coconut water to reach desired consistency.

9

Serve over ice if desired and garnish with mint.

If using a blender

10

Blend and Strain (for a smooth juice)

Place the apple pieces, cucumber, celery, romaine, zucchini, kale, spinach, ginger, and lemon juice into a high-speed blender. Add 1/2 cup cold water or coconut water to help the blades move.

11

Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add additional water 1–2 tablespoons at a time until desired consistency is reached.

12

Optional: For a smoother, pulp-free drink, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag into a bowl, pressing firmly with a spatula or squeezing to extract as much liquid as possible.

13

Stir in a pinch of sea salt if using. Serve over ice and garnish with mint.

Storage & Serving

14

Best consumed immediately for maximum nutrient and flavor. If storing, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24–36 hours; shake/stir before drinking as separation will occur.

15

Serves chilled. Give the juice a quick taste before serving and adjust brightness with a little more lemon juice or a tiny pinch of salt if needed.
